SHD recognise the additional waste posed by the packaging and consumable materials used in every roll of prepreg. Through optimisation of all relevant parts, SHD look to reduce the CO2 burden associated with these materials.

Packaging

• Moved away from bleached to natural cardboard 

• Reduced size to fit 33% more boxes on single pallet

Backing paper

• Thinner gauge to reduce material used by ~25%

• Investigation into reuse of silicon carrier paper

Backing polyethene films

• The use of partially recycled poly backers

• Colored green for easy identification
