Working closely with Piran Advanced Composites, SHD have tailored new material solutions onto two RNLI Lifeboat Classes.
On the Tamar Class, SHD's MTC475 system has been used to save weight in structural applications around the exhaust system, needing to operate at very high temperatures of 190C.
While on the Severn Class, the low temperature cure (65C) capability of SHD's VTC401 has been used to make cost effective, lightweight interior parts.
