Overview
As the Purchasing Clerk, you will directly support operations in all aspects of materials supply chain planning, purchasing materials, receiving materials and inventory management and accuracy.
Ideal Person
Either a proven Purchasing Clerk, or a person with an experience mix of purchasing, inventory and receiving knowledge with a willingness to learn. ERP system capabilities and experience are important for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing / Supply Chain
Monitor, update and evaluate supplier pricing and product lead times.
Maintain regular forecasts with suppliers
Raising purchase orders, following company procedures and approval limits.
Work with staff to source and cost purchased items as needed.
Follow up on existing/ outstanding purchase orders.
Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers.
Quality
Ensure appropriate specifications are adhered to in purchasing materials
Engage with Quality function for non-conformities
Planning
Maintain minimum quantity raw materials orders ensuring cash flow and warehousing space are optimised.
Maintain inventory levels to set amounts needed for production.
Inventory
Work closely with receiving to ensure correct data in the ERP system and locations of inventory.
Perform inventory counts and correct any issues in the ERP / physical locations.
Maintain inventory and stock warehousing in a tidy and organised manner.
Report on inventory as required.
General
Ensure office, breakroom, restrooms and conference rooms are stocked.
Oversee Office Cleaning services.
To undertake and perform other duties from time to time as can be requested by the company.

Ability to operate Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Must be able to use email professionally and frequently in a professional manner.
Must be able to use standard office equipment.

Must be able to be forklift certified.
Must be able to work independently, self-directed and as part of a team.
Work Environment/Essential Physical Demands
Ability to perform physical work for helping to load/unload trucks both manually and with a forklift.
Must be able to work weekends and overtime if required.
Must be able to use hands and fingers for fine manipulation and keyboarding as needed.
Ability to bend, lift, push and pull (up to 110 lbs).
Ability to stand and walk as needed thru the day.
Ability to safely, effectively and reliability receive and give urgent and other essential communications in a factory environment.
Ability to detect abnormalities in the process and receive safety signals using visual, tactile, or auditory senses.
Must have good vision and auditory senses.
Must be able to follow all safety and company policies and procedures.
Must be able to wear all required PPE.
Must be able to work in a typical manufacturing environment on concrete floors.
Must be able to work short time periods in cold temperatures.
Must be able to work long hours at a computer.
