The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the planning, coordination, administration, and reporting of all maintenance activities across the business. This role ensures that planned preventative maintenance (PPM), corrective maintenance, and improvement projects are effectively scheduled, resourced, completed, and reported on.
Working closely with Maintenance Technicians, Production, Engineering, and Purchasing teams, the Maintenance Planner will play a key role in maximising equipment uptime, improving maintenance performance, and supporting the continued growth of SHD Composites.
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
Develop and maintain maintenance schedule.
Coordinate planned preventative maintenance activities to minimise disruption to production.
Prioritise maintenance tasks based on operational requirements, equipment criticality, and safety considerations.
Plan maintenance shutdowns and support project work where required.
Ensure all maintenance activities are scheduled with appropriate resources, parts, and support.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Manage maintenance work orders from creation through to completion.
Ensure maintenance data is updated within company systems in a timely and accurate manner.
Create and maintain asset registers, maintenance procedures, and equipment histories.
Support compliance requirements through effective document control and record keeping.
Raise purchase requisitions for maintenance-related parts, consumables, equipment, and services.
Monitor delivery schedules and liaise with suppliers to ensure material availability.
Assist in maintaining appropriate spare parts inventory levels.
Support cost control by tracking maintenance expenditure and identifying purchasing efficiencies.
Monitor progress of maintenance activities and ensure jobs are completed on time.
Coordinate communication between maintenance and production teams.
Verify completion of maintenance work and ensure all documentation is closed out correctly.
Identify delays, resource constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
Essential
Previous experience in a planning, administration, project coordination, or similar role.
Strong organisational and planning skills.
Excellent attention to detail and administration capability.
Proficient in Microsoft product
Experience managing work orders and maintenance schedules.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience within manufacturing or industrial environments.
Knowledge of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
Understanding of preventative maintenance methodologies.
Experience raising purchase orders or purchase requisitions.
Knowledge of maintenance KPIs and reporting.
Highly organised and proactive.
Strong problem-solving ability.
