Bloodhound SSC

The Bloodhound SSC’s mission is to create a car that will break the current World Land Speed Record by travelling at over 1,000 miles per hour. To achieve this, they will confront and overcome the impossible using science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The iconic project has been designed to inspire and motivate the next generation to overcome 21st century challenges.

We are proud product sponsors of the project, supplying both carbon fibre and technical support for the team. “SHD have been instrumental in providing the project with resin impregnated carbon fibre for the build of the front of the car including Andy’s office, as we like to call it. Their enthusiasm for the education side is infectious and {the events are} proof of their commitment.” Bloodhound’s Tony Parraman.

Our involvement in the project has allowed us to hold local events in Sleaford with the car to celebrate engineering and manufacturing within Lincolnshire. The events have been a huge success with local schools and colleges who visited and took part in numerous activities, including building and racing model rocket cars with the Bloodhound team. “We are so excited to be involved in this amazing project and we wanted to bring the car and team to Sleaford and share that experience with the young people living here. Our aim is to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers with this iconic car.” Helen Doughty
