Work Times: 8:00am to 4:30pm (Monday to Friday). A degree of flexibility will be needed at peak periods.
Summary and Purpose
SHD Composite Materials Inc was incorporated in August 2018, to service the expanding American and Canadian composite industries. The North American HQ is in Mooresville, North Carolina and became a fully operational manufacturing facility in 2019.
SHD Composite Materials Inc are manufacturers of advanced composite pre-impregnated (prepreg) materials. With a growing global presence, we can service the American prepreg market with high quality prepreg at fast turnaround times together with world class technical support.
Our core strength is the ability to supply high or low volume, with a wide range of tooling and component products throughout America, and around the world.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-growing company at the beginning of its growth trajectory and to develop a key role within the business. The purpose of this position is to oversee the payroll and assist the US management team with HR best practice standards. The role also requires working alongside the UK based HR Manager and Group Finance Director to manage some of the financial accounting records locally and develop systems of internal control in line with the Group.
In this role, you will manager the payroll system for the US team as well as commit to HR administration duties.
Working in accordance with Company Quality and Health & Safety procedures at all times.
Reporting to the Directors and supporting Directors and Managers with HR related matters in accordance with Group practices and local legislation.
Ensuring local compliance with employment legislation.
Working with local advisors on HR matters.
Co-ordination and management of health care package
Handling staff queries regarding payroll and HR.
Preparation of employee contracts and letters of offer/appointment.
Ad hoc HR and payroll matters.
Reviewing and maintaining staff policies and handbook
Conducting Exit interviews
Issuing and updating employee’s confidentiality policy and emergency contacts.
Managing employee appraisal process.
Involvement with training and employee development
To undertake any other duties from time to time as can be reasonably requested by the company.
End to end payroll processing of payroll.
Understanding and following payroll procedures and payroll related forms
Maintaining and updating employee records on the payroll system
Process new employees, terminations, transfers and promotions
Collate payroll information, process, produce reports and journals and filing.
Calculate and post payroll deductions.
Liaising with staff and management on payroll related queries
Maintaining leave, sickness and overtime reports
Payroll reporting to meet internal and statutory obligations.
Processing increases and calculation of back pays.
Prepare and remit monthly pension contributions.
Month end reconciliation of payroll to Accounts Journal
Processing termination calculations as required.
Complying with relevant legislation and regulations
Dealing with payroll queries from employees
End of year processing and reconciliation including payment summaries
Maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information confidential
Skills and Ability
Demonstrate payroll processing experience.
