Responsible for: Finance Team
Work hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm (Monday to Friday). A degree of flexibility will be needed at peak periods.
The purpose of this role is to work alongside the Group HR Manager as part of the UK management team whilst reporting into the Group Finance Director and Board of Directors.
In this role, you will be overseeing end to end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests when they arise.
Working in accordance with Company Quality and Health & Safety procedures at all times.
Management of the finance team.
Authorisation of bank payments.
Preparation and submission of VAT Reports.
Preparation and circulation of monthly sales reports.
Preparation of intercompany charges and intercompany reconciliations.
Preparation and submission of Office for National Statistics and other surveys.
Preparation of monthly management accounts for review by the Group Finance Director.
Preparation of annual forecasts for review by the Group Finance Director.
Monitoring budget to actuals with the management team.
Managing the workflow and training and development of finance team.
Developing processes and improvement to working practices.
Managing the year end process and reporting with the external accountants.
Managing the year end Group audit with the Group auditors and the wider Group finance team.
Working with the Technical department to collate Research & Development tax claim and assisting with grant claims and applications.
Consulting with and engaging with external advisors including bank, tax advisers and insurers.
Working with the Premises Manager to ensure the best utility management.
Supporting the Group HR Manager and providing payroll back-up and support
Other duties from time to time as can be reasonably requested by the Company.

Understanding of UK payroll legislation and processes
Understanding of UK taxation inc. Corporation Tax and VAT

Planning and organising
Educated to a degree level - preferred.
Accounting qualification (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, AAT) - essential
