Job Title: European Sales Manager – Central and Eastern Europe

Responsible to: Commercial Director

Location: Home based with extensive travelling across Europe

Work Times: 8:30am to 4:30pm (Monday to Friday). A high level of flexibility will be needed at peak periods.

Summary and Purpose

Established in 2009 in Sleaford UK, SHD Composites Group now operates through 3 manufacturing sites in the UK, Europe and USA, and are well-established industry suppliers of high quality structural and tooling prepreg materials.

EN 9100:2018 and BS EN ISO 9001:2015 certified, SHD pride themselves on exceptional levels of quality, service and responsiveness to local customer needs, supporting activity across multiple territories and into industry sectors including Automotive, Motorsport, Aerospace and Leisure.

The purpose of this role is to drive sustainable financial growth for SHD across Europe, with a particular focus on Germany and Eastern Europe, through pro-active support of existing customers, developing new opportunities and liaising effectively with SHD manufacturing sites

Person Specification

In this role, you will be selling and supporting the products and services that SHD customers have grown to rely on. You will need a thorough understanding of advanced composites prepreg technology and several successful years’ experience in field sales across Europe.

Pro-active and self-disciplined, the ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills for working both within SHD businesses and with customers. Extensive travel will be required, with a main operating base at SHD Krsko, Slovenia. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a strong and growing customer base through effective and pro-active account management.
  • Generating new business leads and supporting SHD’s continuing growth employing strong technical knowledge and experience
  • Support product sales and services from both SHD Slovenia and UK
  • Part of Senior Management team of SHD Slovenia, assisting with the day to day running of the business as and when appropriate
  • Working closely with SHD technical department on product and application development at customers
  • Working to and reporting against budgets, targets and objectives as defined by SHD Commercial Director.
  • Support strategic business development activities as appropriate
  • Attending trade shows, networking events as an exhibitor for SHD, or visitor for prospecting.
  • Liaise with sales administration, purchasing and relevant departments where necessary to ensure effective and efficient support of customers
  • Work in accordance with the Company Quality and Health and Safety procedures at all times.
  • To undertake and other duties from time to time as can be reasonable requested by the company.

Skills and Ability

  • Knowledge of advanced composite prepreg materials manufacture and application
  • Experience and strong track record in field sales across multiple market sectors
  • Essential territorial coverage of Germany and Eastern Europe but maybe broader depending on applicant
  • Speak fluent German and other languages a benefit
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • High degree of computer literacy
