Bloodhound SSC Project

Grey Triangle

Proud product sponsors of the project

The Bloodhound SSC’s mission is to create a car that will travel at over 1,000 miles per hour. In order to do this they will confront and overcome the impossible using science, technology, engineering and mathematics. They aim to use this iconic project to motivate the next generation to deal with 21st century challenges.

We have held events here in Sleaford to encourage the celebration of engineering and manufacturing in Lincolnshire and to display the car to the area. The events have been a huge success with local schools and colleges who visit and take part in numerous activities, including building and racing model rocket cars with the Bloodhound team. Having worked closely with the team, we have visited the Bristol base, held and been to events, including the official world opening of the car in Canary Wharf, London.

We are proud product sponsors of the project, supplying both carbon fibre and technical support for the team.

We are so excited to be involved in this amazing project and we wanted to bring the car and team to Sleaford and share that experience with the young people living here. Our aim is to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers with this iconic car.” Helen Doughty

Events like this are a fantastic opportunity for our sponsors to see the Bloodhound Education Programme in action, their support is key to our aim of inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers. SHD have been instrumental in providing the project with resin impregnated carbon fibre for the build of the front of the car including Andy’s office, as we like to call it. Their enthusiasm, for the education side is infectious and this event is proof of their commitment. The trade day was a massive success with companies across the region getting involved and putting their names on the fin of the car.” Bloodhound’s Tony Parraman
